Today I want to share a story in a story. I came across this story in the Novel Joy of Life, by Chinese author Mao Ni, which has been made into a movie as well. “ A long time ago, in a forest, there was only a little white rabbit. Early in the morning, he happily left his home, but he then ran into a big grey wolf. The big grey wolf grabbed the little white rabbit and slapped him twice in the face and then said, ‘I told you not to wear a hat!' The next day, the white rabbit put on his hat and left his house again. As he walked, he ran into the big grey wolf again. The big grey wolf caught him again and once more slapped him twice on the face, ‘That’ll teach you to wear a hat!’ The little white rabbit felt very gloomy, so he ran to the old tiger to tell on the big grey wolf. Many people have this thing that when you tell them about your hardship or what is meant to be a sad happening, they tell you about theirs or someone else's sad story in turn. And some times, it's difficult to tell whether they are being empathetic with you or trying to make hardship seem like child's play. Mark Twain said that, "Nothing that grieves us can be called little: by the eternal laws or proportion, a child's loss of a doll and a King's loss of a crown are events of the same size." ~ Which was the Dream? So next time someone tells you about an unfortunate event that happened to them, first of all, Listen. Don't be quick to dismiss their claims, console them. Wisdom is profitable to direct - says the Bible. Being tactful is displaying wisdom in action and in speech.  The oxford dictionary defines tact as skill or sensitivity in dealing with others or difficult issues. Tact is a desirable quality as long as you must live and coexist with others. Maturity is about becoming a better version of yourself and being tactful is a plus for you and those around you. I got these two sentences in totally different situations, while I thought one was ridiculously funny and true in the context of the novel, I thought the other was overwhelming and completely true with regards to my life in general. One was from reading a a chinese online novel and the other was from listening to a christian song. Not until today, did I think that I could associate them together. So, what are these quotes? and how have they had a profound impression on me in this week. 1. Only ten minutes into the video and I felt so refreshed. Interesting sentence, "our vote to believe a lie is what makes it powerful" It's no wonder David would say, "I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord", "Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere" If you are going through a drought or rough time in your life, or feel fed up, this was really refreshing to me. Foood. One of my favorite fast foods, is Subway. I love this Panineria especially, cause I think its similar, you don't get to choose the different fillings, but the vegetables are just as fresh as subways. Its a little bit pricey at 1650ft to 2450ft, this is actually in the range of 6-8 EUROS. The address is at Oktogon 4, I've had it twice now, and just had to write about this. What happens when people are stupid? Innocent persons suffer. What happens when other people are still stupid? Innocent persons still suffer. What happens when other people decide to remain stupid? Innocent persons keep suffering. Who is innocent in this case? The one who is not party to another's stupidity, the one who has never tolerated nor contributed to another's stupidity in any form. Nobody was born to be stupid, there are some people that were born with mental retardation or developed it afterwards. They are not stupid, they are physiologically ill. Note my statement above, nobody was born to be stupid. Many of us though as infants and children were stupid and without sense. That's why a baby at a certain age, will put almost anything in its mouth. Then we grow and mature, become more sensible and keep learning and keep being enlightened. Several months ago, I wrote an article titled 10 things I learned from reading Xianxia novels and I still haven't published. For some reason I felt I was exposing people to the world and the dark side and all that, like its not from the Bible and so on. I discovered quite late that the saying, "no man is an island" is really true. I am already 24 years old and just getting what should be the very basics of relationships. Its not that I have had no friends all this while, but most of my relationships with others in the past ran on the premise of "ain't nobody got time for nonsense" - if I wasn't seeing tangible benefits, I was out. I didn't learn dependence on others and didn't think I needed it. I didn't learn to rely and fully trust. You can say, maybe I never found the right people, but I think the problem was that I never approached my relationships the proper way. I grew up hearing things like, " shame on you ", " you should be ashamed of yourself " " You don't feel shame ?", or name calling such as " Olodo " which means dummy in yoruba language. Not just in primary school, but even in professional circles, I speak for myself as a medical student, experiencing rounds in a Nigerian hospital environment. I read an article on yahoo the other day, it was on 10 things to not say to your boss. After reading the first three points, I felt it was a waste of my time to go on. Actually I felt then that it was total nonsense and couldn’t believe someone took their time to write that. It makes one wonder, either the article was really nonsensical or I am the one who thinks myself to have above and beyond common sense. Well, that incident left me wondering how to pick and choose and how to avoid making decisions that waste my time. How do you know what you have decided on won’t be a total waste of time? I still have no concrete answer. But, looking at my life over the past year — I have made a lot of major decisions and am yet to conclude if they were profitable or not. One thing I have learnt though — No matter what path you picked and how it ended up, don’t lose you. Keep trudging on, keep moving forward. Don’t let yourself stop you...

I found one scene a bit unreal and funny when the grandma told the thief, "put your knife down in the name of Jesus" mmm will you try this in real life? My faith really needs to grow much more. The little's girl's portrayal of a child aware of the problems in her family was believable.The actors with the main roles did a great job portraying their characters also. In general, it was a good story with a simple plot. I love that they kept the sad parts to a bare minimum, perhaps I've watched too many movies where too many tragic stuff happen before the protagonists come out victorious. One other thing I took note of in the movie was granny Clara's model of evangelism. People might be annoyed at how intrusive you are about their lives, but in the end they'll appreciate you cause you took the extra step, you cared to ask them more questions. I don't know how to argue, when I do attempt to, I tremble, my voice may break up, it appears as though I may cry the next minute. In worst case scenarios, I end up saying harsh words that do not pertain to the issue at hand only for the sake of putting down the other party. I am not that good at pretending either, if things are not funny I cannot for the life of me mutter a small laughter, I may smile and with the advent of short form writing on social media, you may hear me often times saying lol. So when people say something that I do not agree with, I can hardly stomach it, it's even worse if they are trying to sell the idea to others and not only to me. In those times I cringe, every muscle on my face moves to show my discontent, sometimes am smart enough to keep a poker face. This all makes it hard for me to avoid arguments. I am currently reading a book titled God's Generals by Robert Liardon. It is truly inspiring learning about the history of the church, learning about great men of God and how it all began for them and their ministeries. I am still at the very beginning, reading about John and Charles Wesley and today I want to write down John Wesley's twelve rules of conduct which he laid down for the preachers/ministers he ordained. "Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men" To praise means also to bless, it means to sing in honor of someone, it means to extol, to express respect and gratitude. Praise comes about because of what one has done, which is why David says, Bless the Lord Oh my soul and forget not His benefits.
